A collaboration with Professor Steve F. Anderson, Machine Visions: Mojave is an exploration of the ecology of the Joshua Tree as well as how one might be able to visualize or perceive the landscape in ways not immediately obvious to the human eye.
Incorporating photogrammetry scans of the Mojave Desert near the area of Joshua Tree National Park, this project ended up becoming a screen installation, a VR experience, and a 360 degree dome movie. The viewer explores a series of regions rendered as point clouds, wireframes, and photographic textures.
