Procedural Game Jam 2014 – Part 1


The 2014 Procedural Game Jam started a few hours ago, and I couldn’t pass it up. Information is here – http://itch.io/jam/procjam

I’ll go into detail on what I’m working on over the next few days. For now, I’m finalizing an aesthetic – something I like to do early on in a game jam so that I’m not second guessing the “look” and can focus on playing with the mechanics. In this case I’m using a post processing filter (customized from Unity’s Blur shader) to create a painted effect. Here’s a screenshot:

I’ll be tweaking the parameters a bit, but the general idea is there. Now that I have a pretty good idea of how I’ll see the space, I can devote more time to the details of what the space contains.
